Spring 2008 Summer 2008
Spring 2008 Summer 2008

Tuition for the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC) is $1,460 for the six-day conference and $2,290 for the 10-day conference. Tuition includes all housing, program materials, breakfasts and dinners. Transportation to and from the conference location is not included.  Scholars will need money only for lunches and incidentals (phone calls, snacks, etc.).

Fundraising
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC) makes every effort to assist students with gathering funds for part or all of their tuition through fundraising and scholarships.

For nominees who are interested in fundraising to help offset the cost of tuition, CYLC has prepared a special student fundraising guide [PDF, 178K] featuring helpful, step-by-step suggestions and activities that will enable nominees to raise funds.

Need a great idea for fundraising? Read the success stories of scholars who raised full or partial tuition to attend their program.

For more information regarding fundraising, contact the Office of Admissions.

Scholarship Application
The Congressional Youth Leadership Council Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has established a scholarship fund to provide financial assistance to qualified nominees who are financially disadvantaged. The Foundation awards a limited number of partial and full scholarships based on financial need, scholastic merit, leadership achievements and other factors.

All scholarship application deadlines for the summer and fall 2008 NYLC sessions have passed. It is too late to apply for a scholarship.

In the event that you are preliminarily granted an award, your notification letter will ask you to finalize the award through submitting a copy of the 2007 1040 Federal Income Tax Form from the individual who claimed you as a dependent.  The Federal Income Tax form serves as proof of financial need as indicated upon the applicant’s Scholarship Application. The Congressional Youth Leadership Council cannot grant any scholarship money without receiving sufficient proof of income. If you have questions, please contact the Office of Admissions.

Scholarship applicants should expect e-mail notification of the review results within two weeks of the scholarship deadline. Scholarship applicants who did not provide an operable e-mail address will receive their review results by mail shortly thereafter.
