Educators & Mentors

Nominate your top high school students to take part in a global youth leadership program in the United States of America, Europe, or China this summer!

As an educator or mentor, you may recognize your students by nominating them to attend the Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC). There is no one more qualified to identify and motivate our nation's most promising young people than you. By recommending students who show the potential to be great leaders, you are providing them with a key to their future and a valuable head start toward the success they dream of achieving.

There are numerous benefits to your students from attending GYLC:

  • Students practice and apply valuable public speaking, advocacy, research, teamwork and collaboration and leadership skills through our interactive curriculum.
  • Students participate in thought-provoking question and answer sessions with highly respected, internationally recognized business leaders, policy officials, diplomats and journalists, who provide rich insights into current issues and discuss the strategies that helped them succeed.
  • Students will learn to overcome challenges, analyze their values, stretch their capabilities, and hone their leadership skills during role-playing simulations focusing on current issues of global significance.
  • Students receive a personalized Letter of Participation that details their attendance at the Conference and describes the valuable educational components and experiences of the program. Many students submit a copy of this Letter of Participation with college applications to highlight their academic experience and extra-curricular achievement.
  • Students return home and to school enthused to demonstrate their enhanced leadership skills and continue growing and developing as a student and as a leader.
  • Students step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves among the highest achieving students in the world.
  • Students make long-lasting connections and friendships with other motivated students who share their interests.
  • Students improve their self-confidence and self-esteem, practice the ability to listen to others and be tolerant of other opinions/beliefs, gain independence and make friends outside of their normal social settings.

Nominated students and their parents receive letters of invitation and all of the information needed to enroll in the program. To nominate your outstanding students, click here. If you require additional information, e-mail us at gylc_educator@cylc.org.
