Sofia's Story
Total Raised: $2683

I scrapped and saved, and if I saw a penny, I'd pick it up.

What I also did was I sent a letter to the Dallas Women's museum asking if they could sponsor me, and what I got for a reply was that they would sell items on my account and take no money for themselves, and they also offered to sell things that I made. So, I got to work hand-making anything that I could sell. I ended up making mostly bookmarks, and I also asked if they could set up a donation box in the women's museum gift shop. They asked if I could write an essay about how I got nominated to go to the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC). So I sent them that essay and a photo of me.

Another thing I did to raise money was to when my mother lampworks her glass beads to clean the beads and the mandrils and to also get the mandrils ready to be used when she makes her beads. So the deal was that whenever she sold jewelry the money would go to "Sofia's JrNYLC fund." My grandmother also contributed $200.
