The Conference was truly one of the most amazing summer experiences I have ever had. I loved meeting people from all over the world, from Boston to Bahrain, and finding differences but also similarities between us all. I thought I knew all about stereotypes, international issues and the world in general. However, this conference was an eye-opener because I learnt so much more about other cultures and people.

I think the hands on activities for the scholars were awesome! My son definitely learned a lot of life skills over the course of the week. I would highly recommend this experience to other qualified students.

The NYLF-NS program was life changing. After attending this program I find that I am more confident in school and around people. I have also learned to speak my mind and to not be afraid of other people... I have developed an interest in world politics and also developed an interest in a job in national security. I loved this program, if you ever get the chance to go please do.

I'll admit that at first I was extremely skeptical of NYLC; my sister had participated years before, so I knew it wasn't a scam, but I wasn't sure if anything remotely useful would come out of it. Fortunately, I took a chance and tried it, and it paid off. I met lots of new people and became more friendly and outgoing... I was also offered an internship on Capitol Hill, which could help me further a career in politics, should I choose to pursue one. NYLC has limitless possibilities.

I was amazed at how much my daughter learned during the week. I dropped her off as a gifted child and picked her up as a young adult. The curriculum is one that cannot be administered in public schools, and the maturity that is learned... is invaluable.

What I enjoyed most about the forum was the truly amazing, brilliant, and talented people from all over the country that I was able to meet. What an empowering feeling it is to be among such motivated, yet fun people for 10 days.

As a parent I was skeptical at first, but we talked to our high school guidance office and contacted former Crestwood High NYLF alumna. Based on their favorable recommendations, and the initial itinerary received, my son is now a proud alumna as well. He had a GREAT time and was able to see and do things that would normally have been impossible... It was definitely a good investment in my son's education and future.

This program was amazing for a few reasons... Being around people who are interested in things like politics and culture and would gladly carry on a conversation about such topics was so refreshing... We all challenged each other to take on leadership roles within the different aspects of the program and brought out the best in each other... Also, the scholars from around the world who attended were great people and the nominators chose well.
